Wheel Alignments

Three main adjustments contribute to performing a wheel alignment. Caster, Camber and Toe.

  • Caster is the angle of your wheel’s pivot, which is attached to the suspension.
  • Camber is the degree of perpendicular offset from the road surface.
  • Distinct from camber, toe adjustments are the extent to which your tires turn inward or outward when viewed from above.

The front and rear wheels on your vehicle should always be perpendicular to the ground and parallel to the tire beside it. Annual wheel alignments, or at least wheel alignment checks have the potential to save you money in the long run. A wheel alignment can also greatly reduce tire wear, improve fuel mileage, and daily driving conditions.

Left untreated, wheel alignment issues have the potential to turn into steering and suspension issues. Continuing to drive with your wheels out of alignment not only puts stress on your tires, it also puts stress on your vehicle’s suspension components. Wheels out of alignment can also cause uneven tire wear, and choppy or feathered tread patterns. Uneven tread wear can be felt in a vehicle pulling to the right or left, feathered or choppy tires can feel bumpy or noisy when driving.
